Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold’em is the favourite poker game and well worth a try. Each player is dealt two pocket cards plus a further three community cards in each round. You need one or two pocket cards in addition to the necessary community cards to constitute a hand. The round is won by the player in posession of the highest scoring hand.

Omaha Hi

Like Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi includes the use of both community and pocket cards. Unlike Texas Hold’em, however, players receive a total of four pocket cards. The final hand must include two of the pocket cards plus a further three community cards to be valid. This requires a completely different strategy and approach than you will find in Texas Hold’em.

Omaha Hi/Lo

A split pot game, Omaha H/Lo permits two winners in the event of the appropriate low scoring hand. This means that the player holding the highest scoring hand will share the pot with the player holding the lowest scoring hand. To build a qualifying low hand, your hand cannot include cards with a higher value than 8. The player with the highest scoring hand wins if there is no eligible low scoring hand.

7 Card Stud

Each player is dealt two pocket cards plus an additional ‘door’ card dealt face up. The player with the lowest ‘door’ card initiates the bets. An additional card is then dealt face up and the player with the highest value card continues with the betting. Two more cards are subsequently dealt and are followed by additional bets. Finally, a seventh card is dealt facedown. The round is won by the player who assembles the highest scoring poker hand.

5 Card Stud

5 Card Stud is a lot like 7 Card Stud but with some crucial differences. Unlike the former, players receive only one pocket card. A sequence of cards are then dealt face up but since there is one less card, there is also one less betting round. The most important thing to remember is that you are assembling your hand from the 5 dealt cards rather than a choice of seven.
